A special security session dedicated to Israel's achievements in the security field will be held as part of the international conference "Nano-Israel 2014" which will be held next week in Tel Aviv (March 24-25, at David Intercontinental). The seat was built in close cooperation with the Administration for Research, Development of Weapons and Technological Infrastructure in the Ministry of Defense (MPAAT), which coordinates all research and defense development programs in the State of Israel.

As part of the conference, nanotechnology-based developments, Israeli innovations and successes will be presented, and leading figures from the Israeli and global defense industry will present and reveal their capabilities in the field. "The goal of the meeting is to create fruitful collaborations between representatives of the defense industry and companies and researchers in Israel, and in addition to accelerate collaborations that will lead to the transition of applications from the defense field to the civil-commercial field," says Rafi Koriat, co-chairman of the Nano-Israel conference.

As examples of applications under development, Koriat cites the developments of the Pelsan-Tortech company for the integration of nanotubes for the protection of vehicles and camouflage kits, of companies such as Rafael and the IAA, which use nanomaterials and nanotubes to reduce weight while at the same time increasing mechanical strength, two very significant issues. in the aviation and missile industries, and of the Elbit company that developed capacitors that optimize the energy consumption for starting off-road vehicles and others, thereby extending the life of the battery.

"The Nano-Israel Conference is the most important and central platform for exposure at the global level, and for presenting the collection of unique capabilities built in the field in Israel," says Koriat. Above all, we can see how the State of Israel sets itself the goal of being one of the leaders in the field of nanotechnology, in the field of materials, energy, medicine, the environment, and even in educating the younger generation for multidisciplinarity and working in synergy at the highest levels that the field requires," says Koriat.

The security session will be held throughout the second day of the conference (March 25) and will be attended by leading lecturers and researchers from the world and Israel. The "Nano-Israel 2014" conference will be opened by Yaakov Perry, Minister of Science and Technology and former head of the Shin Bet.
