The largest delivery company in the United States, Amazon, has received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration, FAA, to conduct flight tests on unmanned aircraft that it is developing for the needs of delivering shipments by air to product buyers. The special permit is required due to the fact that Amazon is operating a new aircraft that does not have a license at all.

The FAA limited the company's drone flights to a height of 400 feet, about 130 meters, or less. The flights will be carried out during the day only and only in visibility conditions that allow the drone to be seen. It was determined that it would be forbidden to take the plane out of the pilot's line of sight and observation, and it was decided that the pilot must be a pilot himself and with appropriate medical training.

Amazon is required to submit a monthly report to the American aviation authorities on its air operations, including the number of flights made, the number of hours the pilots worked, the loss of contact with the aircraft or air traffic control, and regarding aircraft malfunctions and failures.
