Tomorrow (Thursday): the night of the scientists throughout the country and the great happiness experiment

The experiment, led by Dr. Eyal Doron, was developed according to internationally accepted happiness measures, in which the public can participate, through the website of the Ministry of Science, and learn something more about themselves. At the end of the experiment, a snapshot of happiness in Israel will be presented that will allow each of the participants to find themselves on the national happiness map. Among the questions in the experiment: Did I have the happiest moment of my life? How much do I help others? To what extent is my life the result of my choices and actions?

The Night of Scientists events will take place tomorrow, September 6, at 13 universities, colleges and science museums across the country. at the events, which will be held to mark the 70th anniversary of Israel's leadership Ministry of Science and Technology and the European Union, The general public is invited to discover and explore the developing world of science in Israel, to witness scientific demonstrations, exhibitions, lectures and scientific shows - all free of charge. Tomorrow's events will culminate in the "Great Happiness Experiment" conducted by the Ministry on the occasion of the events under the guidance of Dr. Eyal Doron.

The experiment was developed according to internationally accepted happiness indicators, in which the public can participate, through the website of the Ministry of Science, and learn something more about themselves. At the end of the experiment, a snapshot of happiness in Israel will be presented that will allow each of the participants to find themselves on the national happiness map. According to the Minister of Science and Technology Ofir Akunis, "As every year, the public is invited to open the new year with a quality activity that will encourage young people to engage in the fields of technology and innovation. The free activity throughout the country will expose them to the scientific work in the research institutions, and to the Israeli heritage in the field throughout the 70 years of the state and more. We have something to be proud of. Come with the whole family."

 

The details of the events in the number of institutions participating in the night of the scientists:
at the open university You can participate in a special workshop for producing dye from purple cabbage, create ancient games from different cultures, participate in virtual escape rooms, draw your dreams for the next 70 years on a special wall and watch a circus show that combines high jumps, acrobatics and laughter.

at Bar Ilan University You can participate in a virtual adventure tour, watch an entertaining experiential show that explores the limits of science, experiment with scientific principles, electromagnetic magic activity and time travel in the escape rooms.
Location: Bar Ilan University, Ramat Gan. starting at 17:00 p.m.

 

at Tel Aviv University Among other things, you will be able to plan the city of the future, witness an avenue of scientific demonstrations, experience activities for a greener environment, hear about predicting the future, curious robots and the changes that the autonomous vehicle will bring, visit the Diaspora House as well as enjoy a concert and a conversation about carnivals.

at the Bloomfield Science Museum in Jerusalem There will be meetings with researchers, lectures on groundbreaking research, construction and experimentation workshops, tours, scientific demonstrations, experiential activity on the subject of risk and challenge in children's books and a comedy circus show for the whole family.
Location: The Bloomfield Science Museum, near the Hebrew University in Givat-Ram, Jerusalem. starting at 16:00 p.m.

 

At the MadaTech Science Museum in Haifa Lectures, demonstrations, workshops and special activities will be held throughout the campus, including: a show on intelligent use of screens, a lecture on biases in machine learning, a digital creation wall and a workshop on growing blue and white crystals similar to the experiment Ilan Ramon did in space.

Bemigal - Institute for Scientific Research in the Galilee You will witness 70 years of inventions, technological developments and international successes. The Sami Shimon Academic College of Engineering You will hold events in Ashdod and Be'er Sheva, which will include, among other things, escape rooms for the whole family, virtual reality stations, a thinking games complex, a XNUMXD workshop, lectures and more.

At the Davidson Institute, the educational arm of the Weizmann Institute in Rehovot, the participants will be able to visit interactive centers, the science garden and research laboratories and be impressed by a variety of exhibitions. Among the activities: a chemistry workshop, electricity, thinking games, a show of scientific demonstrations "Scientific Detective", "Science in the Kitchen" and more.

The Night of Scientists will be held on September 6 from 17:00 p.m. until midnight at the following institutions: Bar Ilan University, Tel Aviv University, Hebrew University, Haifa University, Ra'anana Open University, Madatech Science Museum in Haifa, Al Qasmi Academy, Oranim College, SCE Academic College of Engineering in Ashdod and Be'er Sheva, the Science Museum in Jerusalem, the Weizmann Institute - Davidson Institute in Rehovot, Miguel in Kiryat Shmona and the National Aquaculture Center in Eilat.
