The Ministry of Science will once again celebrate Israel Science Day this year with a variety of free events for the general public between March 14 and 16. This year the events will be held under the banner of "Israeli discoveries and developments that influenced the world", to increase awareness of the achievements of science and scientists in Israel and to encourage science studies.
The Israel Science Day events are held every year close to the birthday of the famous scientist Albert Einstein, starting on March 14. The purpose of the events is to bring the general public closer to science, to make science accessible to wide and new audiences in an experiential and unmediated way to stimulate interest and learning in fields that are perceived as complex.
According to Science Minister Ofir Akunis: "We uphold the policy of making science, technology and innovation accessible to all Israeli citizens throughout the country. We have the brightest minds in the world, incredible creativity, it's not for nothing that we have become a high-tech powerhouse. In order to continue to lead, and to be appreciated and admired all over the world, we bring everyone closer - and for free - to science and technology." The events will take place in about 20 locations across the country, including: Kiryat Shmona, Haifa, Hadera, Baka El Garbiyya, Ariel, Ramat Gan, Rehovot, Beer Sheva and more.
In addition, on Science Day, the Ministry of Science will hold a special gathering of ambassadors stationed in Israel to reveal Israeli activities in the field of science and the possibilities for collaborations.

  • Among the events for the general public:
At Tekhnode Hadera, there will be an astronomical event with a variety of fascinating activities: experiments and workshops in the laboratories on the subject of space, a visit to the observatory and the planetarium, and more.
  • At the University of Haifa, the Hecht Museum will hold a variety of activities marked by developments and discoveries from ancient times to the present day: the keyboard of time, a puzzle game, discoveries through the lens, thinking games inspired by ancient games, a show for children about the events that changed the face of history, and story time and creativity.
  • At Ariel University, lectures will be held, experiments in the natural sciences and robotics laboratories, outdoor science stands, fascinating tours of unique research institutes: a research winery, a visit to the particle accelerator, a space station, a medical simulation station and a laser station, and more.
  • At the Davidson Institute for Science Education, the science garden will be opened free of charge alongside demonstrations, workshops and science lectures adapted for the whole family.
  • At Medatech Haifa, the visitors will build a joint project and each visitor will contribute one detail, but the many details will create a large community product such as a bright flower garden and a challenging course where each visitor will have an influence on its shape. Visitors will experience through scientific eyes phenomena such as electricity and space flight, and envision XNUMXD printing.
  • In Galileo it will be possible to experiment in the fields of physics, chemistry and advanced technology while connecting to local activities and events about the latest discoveries in space. The activities are guided and accompanied by active researchers.

The events take place from the afternoon until the evening. Details on the Ministry of Science website.
