Group atm, (Tala: Batam; London: BVC) a technology company that focuses on the development, production and marketing of advanced communication and cyber systems and medical equipment for laboratory tests, announced that its subsidiary Slytron completed the first delivery of a high quality protein and oil production system from insects, to a leading international company for the production of materials Raw material for the food industry by breeding insects. Entering a new market with the first delivery of this system is a milestone for Slytron for 2020.

"After several years of development at our facility in Hungary, we established the best solution available, based on ISS technology," said Dr. Zvi Marom, CEO of Batam. "Extracting protein and oils from animal waste, and now especially from insect breeding, has a huge potential, which has not been used so far, as a sustainable protein source for raw materials such as fish meal, animal feed and even human nutrition. We see significant strengthening in all of Batam's business units, not only in financial performance but also in the launch of innovative technologies that we believe will bring significant benefit to the company for many years to come."

The new system enables a continuous automatic process to produce protein powder and oils from insects raised in special farms, such as worms and flies that feed on waste. The system is based on Slitron's ISS (Integrated Sterilizer and Shredder) technology, which was designed for the harmless sterilization of contaminated medical and agricultural waste, and has significant advantages of efficiency, speed and cost-effectiveness compared to all existing solutions today.

The client company, whose main offices are located in Belgium, uses insects to produce high-quality raw materials for the food industry. It intends to use Batam's solution to produce protein powder, which can be used especially as flour and oils intended for feeding fish.

The company expects to receive further orders from this customer. This contract is added to other contracts based on the group's ISS technology delivered in 2020 in Europe and Asia, with the company receiving orders amounting to $8.3 million for this technology in 2019 and 2020.
