Citizens in Canada uploaded a video to YouTube showing parts of the satellite falling. However, NASA has not yet released the exact location of the crash, and it is currently being checked with the US Strategic Defense Command.
11: 30 Update
NASA itself does not know exactly when and where the satellite was. According to estimates, the UARS satellite fell sometime between 06:23 and 08:09 Israel time this morning. The United Space Command at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California said that as far as is known, the satellite entered the atmosphere Over the Pacific Ocean it says nothing of course about the location of the drop at the end of the track.
Spectators in the city of Octokus, in the state of Alberta in southwestern Canada, have uploaded a video to YouTube in which they claim that what looks like an extremely slow meteor shower are the remains of the UARS satellite.

Update: 09:00
The UARS satellite weighing about six tons and which has been moving in space without fuel for the past few years, so that it could not be aimed for a controlled crash, fell this morning somewhere on Earth, most likely in an uninhabited area, because otherwise we would have heard testimonies.
NASA says that they are reviewing the issue with the US Strategic Defense Command.
It is estimated that 26 pieces of the satellite, including fuel tanks and batteries weighing tens to hundreds of kilograms, could have survived the penetration into the atmosphere.

great
different satellites.
Abby, the names IRAS and UARS are quite similar. Are these two different satellites or the same satellite with a slightly different name? (I ask because I know nothing about satellites in space)
Thanks Tomer
