Two cryogenic cooling modules connected to IBM quantum computers

IBM has connected two modular quantum supercoolers on the way to systems of thousands of qubits

Both cooling modules have reached temperatures below 15 millikelvins and offer up to 12 times more wiring space than existing IBM systems. This is a demonstration of an infrastructure designed to enable the connection of many processors — not yet

IBM to build first large-scale, fault-tolerant quantum computer by 2029

IBM's Quantum Starling is expected to break new ground with 100 million quantum operations and 200 logical qubits, and will serve as the foundation for the next stage in fault-tolerant quantum computing.
