The sun came back into action and in a big way - Stereo filmed a huge solar flare

The eruptions are bands of plasma colder than the rest of the sun's surface, and they usually go out into space due to the influence of magnetic forces * A similar eruption that occurred on April 3 caused spectacular aurora events two days later

A pair of STEREO spacecraft orbiting the sun in two orbits, one ahead of the Earth and the other behind it, photographed the spectacular solar flare, which shone in the extreme ultraviolet range, as it moved away from the sun (April 12-13).
It was one of the largest outbursts imaged by the stereo solar missions or even the old SOHO. The diameter of the bulge is so large that it actually stretches across half the sun - about 800,000 kilometers.
The bulges are colder clouds of plasma that float above the Sun's surface in the form of bands controlled by the magnetic forces. They are famous for their instability and often erupt out of the sun as this bulge did in a dramatic way. The video summarizes 19 hours of activity.

Spectacular events of the polar lights

At the same time, a European solar spacecraft named Proba-2 also photographed at the beginning of a strong solar storm, which caused a strong swing of the aurora borealis several days late. Such eruptions contain several components. The best known are the solar flares and massive ejections of the corona (Coronal Mass Ejections). Solar flares are caused by a massive release of magnetic energy from the Sun's surface.

This flame was observed on April 3, at 11:54 am CET. It was officially classified as weak even though it is still a matter of heat measurements of tens of millions of degrees, and a similar amount of energy consumed by all of humanity for a year. In the event that this eruption was in a straight line to the Earth and it launched a huge amount of charged particles towards us. The particles move at a speed of 500 kilometers per second, and the front of the coronal emission reached us on April 5. The geomagnetic storm that followed the particles was the strongest in three years. It triggered spectacular events of the aurora borealis, but no damage was caused to systems such as satellites and the GPS system, communications and the electricity grid.

Comments

  1. Wow how boring is it possible to die the solar system wow why are we learning about it at all???? There are enough scientists in the world

  2. There is an unrelenting situation, after all, even on Earth, nature is under the control of the unknown creature, the dinosaur, and the same goes for the human race and all animals from the ant to the grizzly bear.

  3. What kind of solar material is really amazing that there is huge heat and fire for a very long time and the universe stays at that heat maybe it is a giant spaceship that created the whole universe

  4. What solar material is really amazing, there is huge heat and fire for a very long time in the universe and remains at the same heat, maybe this is a giant spaceship that created the entire universe

  5. Are there substances on the earth that are on the sun like there are atomic particles the earth is the sun's loser is amazing

  6. If the sun has less heat than it is today or a little more than the normal day, the results will be fatal from the ray of light that reaches the earth

  7. Tens of millions of degrees ???? Didn't this eruption happen from material on the surface of the sun? Or from not great depths? After all, it is known that the temperature of the sun's surface is about 6000 degrees "only". So how did we get to tens of millions of degrees?

  8. Some attribute the last cold winter in Europe
and in North America for solar activity,
The claim is: "The sun's activity caused the jet stream
move south and stop the warming effect
of spirits from the equatorial region".

  9. Read previous articles in solar science and you will see how many worries there were about the fact that the sun was too quiet for several years.

  10. Definitely a beautiful video, is it possible to get a more detailed explanation of the meaning of the title?
