Hundreds of participants attended the first day of the XNUMXth Ilan Ramon International Space Conference led by the Israel Space Agency at the Ministry of Science and the Fisher Institute for Strategic Air and Space Research. Among the notable guests: the head of the Italian Space Agency, Prof. Roberto Battiston, Director of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs, Astronaut Nicole Stott and Astronaut Rex Wallheim from NASA, Astronaut Suishi Noguchi from the Japanese Space Agency, Deputy Commander of the US Space Command and Maria Russ, Lt. President of International Business Development of Lockheed Martin Space Systems.

The conference opened with the words of the head of the Fisher Institute, Brigadier General Assaf Agmon: "The field of space is an extremely important field and we Israelis, known as the "startup nation", have not yet entered it with a central and important vision for the development of entrepreneurship and startups. We must hurry so that we don't get left behind and become irrelevant in this important field, both scientifically, technologically and above all from an economic-industrial point of view. The state must mobilize and help in this matter."

The chairman of the Israel Space Agency at the Ministry of Science, Prof. Alf Yitzhak Ben Israel: "In recent years, the government has increased investment in Israel's civilian space program and the agency invests in academic research, technological developments, international collaborations and nurturing the future generation."

At the same time as the conference, a comprehensive professional exhibition is presented in which the leaders of the military and civilian industry in Israel present the latest innovations in their fields.

In the coming days we will bring several reports from the conference on the knowledge website
