The school - "Hyuvel" from Hod-Monson won the first place in the FLL robotics competition • The second place was won by the school "Katzir" - Holon and the third place - the school "Morar" - Modi'in, Maccabim Reut.
As part of the national robotics competition, which took place at the Nokia Hall in Tel Aviv, the "Hyuval" school from Yehud won first place, in the FLL (FIRST LEGO League) robotics field. The school beat 56 teams that competed in the competition. Meanwhile, the school will represent the State of Israel in the international competition, which will be held in April 2013, in St. Louis in the United States.
"Harvest" middle schools in Holon won second place, and "Morar" from Maccabim Reot media won third place. Both schools represented the State of Israel in the international competition in May 2013 in Germany.
3 high schools - "Ish Shalom" from Kfar Yona, "Ironi B" from Modi'in Maccabim-Reot and "Aviv" from Ra'anana won the first places in the FRC robotics competition
Also, the three high schools - "Ish Shalom" - Kfar Yona, "Ironi B" - Modi'in-Maccabim-Reat and "Aviv" - Ra'anana won in the FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition) field of robotics. The schools will represent the State of Israel in the international competition that will be held in St. Louis in the United States.
It should be noted that in the 4,000 robotics competition, a total of 100 middle and high school students participated in the national final stage, who presented the development of XNUMX robots.
The robots of the high schools competed among themselves in the "Frisbee" game (throwing discs), while the robots of the middle schools, composed of "Lego", will demonstrate their ability in helping the third age, which was defined as the theme of the competition. The robots are supposed to help this age, among other things, by putting out the fire from the stove, lifting the elderly up ramps, taking the right medications, and integrating these ages in a game of bowling. The robots will be required to perform their tasks accurately and within a specified time.
A member of one of the winning teams, Idit Rosen, a 12th grade student at Yitzhak Rabin Urban High School in Modi'in and a representative of Beit Sefer's robotics group in the book states that the robotics competition is an international competition On behalf of the FIRST organization.
"The goal of the competition is to build a robot according to tasks that change every year with an emphasis on instilling values such as helping others, helping others and mutual respect. Our group, primo 4586, is participating in the competition for the first year. In the national competition held on March 11-12.3 at the Nokia Hall in Tel Aviv, we won the coveted prize rookie all star and we were chosen to represent Israel in the international robotics competition that takes place in St. Louis USA on 24-28.4. This win is a very impressive achievement for our group and is a source of inspiration and pride for the school and the city."
50 groups of students from Israel and abroad participated in the "Robotrafic" competition at the Technion
50 groups of students from Israel and abroad (grades XNUMX-XNUMX) participated at the Technion in the fourth "Robotrafic" competition - an international competition with students from Israel, Argentina, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine. The purpose of the competition is to teach safe driving habits and caution on the roads.
The guests from abroad also enjoyed a visit to the Technion and various schools, and also visited the "Yishkar" factory, where they toured the robotic production line. These tours were made possible thanks to the cooperation between the Leumi Robotics Center in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Technion and the international ORT organization - Kadima Mada and Kfar The youth of Kfar Hassidim.
The competition was attended by small car-like mobile robots, which are operated in situations simulating what happens on the roads. "Robotrafic" is a unique competition in robotics, which aims to acquire knowledge and skills related to safe driving. For the purpose of the competition, "safe roads" were developed that contain sensors that establish contact with the cars (robots) on the roads. These provide an automatic response of the vehicle to signals, traffic lights, obstacles, road signs and more.
Dr. Yevgeny Kurchenoi, director of the Leumi Robotics Center, summarized the results of the competition in the various categories:
In the careful driving category, a team from Ort Dnepropetrovsk - the school named after the Rabbi of Lubavitch (Dnepropetrovsk-Ukraine) won.
In the race category, Ort Argentina and Emek Hula School jointly won.
In the driving rules test category, Emek Hula School and Ort Moskva won.
In the design and innovations category in the field of caution on the roads, a group from Magev won.
In the category of advanced careful driving, a team from Magev won.
