Ran Bar He was appointed today (Sunday) as the Director General of the Ministry of Science and Technology and will replace Peretz Vezan, who has held the position for the past three years. Barr, whose appointment was approved today by the government, served for the past decade as senior vice president for administration and human resources jointly with the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Culture and Sports.

Bar (48), who has a bachelor's degree in management and economics and a master's degree in public policy from the Hebrew University, served in the last decade as the deputy director of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Culture and Sports and received many awards of distinction. Before that, he served in a variety of headquarters positions in the office. As part of his current position, he managed the government fund to commemorate Ilan and Asaf Ramon and was a member of many public councils and committees. Over the years he was a leading partner in formulating the reform in the civil service, a partner in outlining the vision and strategy of the ministries, led complex processes in the ministries as well as many reforms in human resources and employee motivation. Bar is married and father of four.
