greenhouse gas (new?)

The gas that replaces the CFC that caused the hole in the ozone is an extremely active greenhouse gas. It should be replaced before it becomes so widely used that it will be difficult to get rid of it

The ozone hole

In the Montreal Convention that came to stop the damage to the ozone layer, it was decided to stop the production and use of chlorofluorocarbons, CFCs. Their replacement came in the form of hydrogen-carbon-fluorine
Hydrofluorocarbons-HFCs meaning hydrogen molecules replaced the chlorine.

CFCs, like its replacement MPP, are mainly used as a gas in refrigeration facilities. Now the members of the new administration in the US came out with a statement that "MFP is a real threat to climate change", later the members of the administration request: "significantly reduce the use of gas promoted by the UN following the Montreal Convention".

"The promotion that is supposed to protect the ozone layer is unjustified and should be changed to a call to stop the use of gas. "The request is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense and of course the Ministry of Environmental Protection.

However, an official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (USA) stopped approval of a decision to stop the use of gas, claiming that "since the administration plans to throw all its weight and "all its votes" in the discussions that will take place in preparation for the continuation of the Kyoto Treaty, it is better not to sooner rather than later.
An assistant in the Ministry of Civil Protection wrote to the Secretary for Ozone Affairs at the UN that: "It would be right to study the issue thoroughly before acting hastily." It is worth noting that there are substitutes for MPF, such as: ammonia, D.T.F. and others, those that before introducing substitutes for wide use it is appropriate to carefully check their effect.

Those who raised the demand to stop the use of MPF are nations that lie on small islands such as Micronesia or Mauritius, since small and flat islands are the first to be affected by climate change and global warming, a warming that causes ocean waters to rise and islands to flood.

It turns out that the M.P.F. It does not harm the ozone layer, but it is a greenhouse gas 10.000 times more active than carbon dioxide.

Next November, the Montreal Convention is to be discussed and, following its implementation, proposals for discussions are to be submitted by the end of May. The representatives of Mauritius and Micronesia announced that they will request to change the treaty and ban the use of MFP, because in their opinion, although the gas currently constitutes only 2% of all greenhouse gases, considering the fact that it is an active gas many times more than other gases and considering that without a decision its use will lead to concentration of about a third of all greenhouse gases within two decades, it is proper and correct to stop the use now.

On the margins (perhaps not at all on the margins) of the events, art and occupation related to the climate and global warming, in the flooding of islands and as a result the proliferation of "climate-refugees", the Prime Minister of Indonesia showed how much he is... "humane? ” and offered the inhabitants of sinking islands to lease (uninhabited) islands in the Indonesian archipelago, who says there is no altruism in human society?

  1. MPF = hydrogen-carbon-fluorine
Altruism is the opposite of egoism - ie - the willingness to dedicate efforts/time/resources for the benefit of others

  2. By the time one climate treaty finally succeeds and the ozone probably already reaches an equilibrium from which it will start to grow back it turns out that the substitutes create a greenhouse gas. blessed.
