With an investment of 15 million shekels: The Innovation Authority selects three accelerators for the commercialization of academic knowledge for Israeli high-tech

The Innovation Authority announces the selection of three franchisees as part of the call for proposals to establish knowledge commercialization accelerators. This is a strategic initiative that aims to bridge research and academic knowledge with industry and accelerate the transformation of scientific discoveries into innovative technological solutions. The winners will establish dedicated accelerators that will connect researchers, entrepreneurs, investors and high-tech companies in order to sign commercialization agreements.

The knowledge commercialization accelerators will focus on commercializing technologies developed in research and academic institutions, to existing medium-sized and large high-tech companies, and to establish new start-up companies in fields at the forefront of science and technology, including climatetech, energy, health, biotechnology, agriculture, and advanced industries. Their activities will be carried out in close cooperation with academic institutions, industrial bodies, investment funds, and international organizations, and will contribute to strengthening Israel's position as a leading innovation center in the global arena.

Each selected accelerator has a unique area of ​​expertise, proven experience, and deep connections to academia, industry, and investors. The franchisees will lead the identification, maturation, and commercialization of research technologies, develop business models, and promote the establishment of new companies of strategic importance to the Israeli economy.

The franchisees' activities will be carried out in close collaboration with research and academic institutions in Israel, local and international industry bodies and investment funds, and will combine early-stage investment, professional guidance and business leadership. The move is intended to increase the rate of academic knowledge reaching the market, strengthen the connection between research and commercial activity, and expand the economic and social impact of Israeli innovation.

Winners:

Flex Partners Ltd., an accelerator focused on commercializing knowledge in the fields of manufacturing industry, agrotechnology and the medical field. The leading team brings rich experience in the manufacturing industry and agricultural innovation. Dr. Tamar Shapir, the accelerator director, founded the ICL incubator in Europe and Nita Kardish, the former director of the agrotech sector at Trendlines, brings extensive managerial and commercial experience. The accelerator is expected to serve as a bridge between academic knowledge and industrial applications.

PEAK.IP , an accelerator focusing on deep technologies that combine life sciences and artificial intelligence. The accelerator will operate in a wide range of fields, including biotechnology, nano-biotechnology, climatetech, water, agriculture, energy, food, waste treatment, digital medicine, healthtech and dual-use technologies. The team brings extensive experience in commercializing knowledge and establishing startups. The accelerator will collaborate with international bodies and investment funds and focus on deep technologies that combine life sciences and artificial intelligence. The team includes Prof. Shusiov, who has founded twenty-two companies in the fields of life sciences to date, Dr. Bloch brings her experience in digital health and artificial intelligence, innovation management at Sheba and consulting for startups in clinical regulation, Adv. Shiri Milo Loker, Business Development Manager at Climatech MEA, and Adv. Sagi Einav, Co-Founder and CEO of Climatech MEA.

Knowport Group, founded by the DesertTech and Climate Innovation Center Ltd.The accelerator will focus on the areas of climatetech and renewable energy, digital health and biotech, alongside deeptech. The program is based on collaborations with leading professional bodies, commitments to invest in a corporation to be established, and a unique collaboration with the Science Abroad organization that will provide access to the knowledge and technologies of thousands of Israeli scientists working around the world.

The three franchisees will begin their activities in the coming months, in collaboration with research and academic institutions from across the country. The move constitutes a central pillar of the Innovation Authority's policy to expand the economic impact of academic knowledge and strengthen the status of industry in Israel as a leading innovation center in the fields of deep technology (Diptech).
