The researchers used mathematical models to predict the carbon concentrations in each option. In "business as usual" the carbon concentration will cross the 450 line in 2035 and double what it was before the industrial revolution. In all other options, the concentration will not reach 450 before 2080.

According to the researchers, since the burning of coal has an increasing share in the emission of pollutants, in order to prevent an increase in the level of carbon in the atmosphere, ways must be found to reduce the emission, in their opinion the use of methane, hydrogen compounds, or alternately "sand-tar" are not sufficient solutions. The right solution, technological development that will allow the use of coal without carbon emissions.
