What if dark energy doesn't exist? New theory could rewrite the expansion of the universe

Researchers suggest that the accelerating expansion of the universe could be due to the geometry of space-time and the extension of the theory of gravity – without adding a “mysterious element” to the equations to match observations

The accelerating expansion of the universe is usually attributed to an invisible force called dark energy. New research suggests that a deeper understanding of gravity and the geometry of space-time may explain this behavior without resorting to such a mystery.

The cause of the accelerating expansion of the universe is still one of the most intriguing open questions in modern physics. Current theories cannot fully explain this behavior using the existing picture of the physical world, which combines Einstein's general theory of relativity with the standard model of particle physics.

To bridge this gap, scientists have proposed the existence of a mysterious force called "dark energy," which they believe is driving the accelerating expansion of the universe.

But the source of this energy is still unknown. Now scientists from Germany and Romania are proposing a different way to think about the problem. Their research offers an explanation, at least in part, for the expansion of the universe without using dark energy at all.

The large-scale evolution of the universe is usually explained using general relativity along with the Friedmann equations. But in this framework, to explain the observed acceleration, scientists have to manually introduce a "dark energy term" into the equations.

This solution is considered by many to be unsatisfactory, so researchers from Germany and Romania have explored an alternative route. Their results rely on an extension of general relativity called Pinsler gravity that has been developed in recent years.

Compared to the traditional formulation of general gravity, this approach uses a more general description of space-time, allowing for a more accurate modeling of the gravitational effects of gases than is possible in standard general gravity.

It works even without "dark energy"

When the researchers calculated the Pinsler expansion of the Friedmann equations, they discovered something exciting: the Pinsler-Friedmann equations already predict an accelerating expansion of the universe even in a vacuum – without the need to introduce additional assumptions or "dark energy" terms.

"This is an exciting indication that we might be able to explain the accelerating expansion of the universe, at least in part, without dark energy, on the basis of a generalized geometry of space-time," says team member physicist Christian Pfeiffer. "This new geometric perspective on the dark energy problem opens up new possibilities for better understanding the laws of nature in the universe."

  2. “Mysterious ingredient” The only mysterious ingredient is the bunch of brainiacs called scientists!

  3. The time has come for cosmologists to apply their natural knowledge and offer humanity a true and simple picture of the universe.
Before they offer a true picture of the universe, they must answer the simple question.... What is in the universe?
According to the natural knowledge of Avinoam Aba, the scientist of the universe, there is an infinite space that is filled with passive time and energy.
From a certain combination of energy and passive time, the element gold is created, and from a different combination of quantities, the element carbon is created.
According to this simple example, the infinite space filled with passive time and energy is where the matter of stars is created, but it is also where they explode and die, and then they give up their energy and their passive time to the infinite splendor.
So far I have presented initial ideas from the neural theory of the universe, (Neveber is the pen name of Avinoam Neveber)

Passive time is completely still and cold, and from combinations of different amounts of passive time and energy, all the elements known to man were created, and this is how the universe operates on its own, according to miraculous laws of nature, such as the law of conservation of energy.
The universe creates its stars, because infinite space is always filled with passive time and energy.
The universe operates on its own, and the stars of the universe move forever on their own because that is how the universe is built.
All stars move forever in spiral orbits – in one and only one direction, and they move on their own, just as the universe operates on its own.

This is a tiny part of the neural theory of the structure of the universe,
