The prime minister suffered a brainstem hemorrhage and was taken on a ventilator to the operating room to drain the bleeding; Draining blood from this area is considered difficult. Unfortunately, I know of two cases of death in my family as a result of blood reaching the brain stem. At first it seems as if the person is just confused but slowly the people in question sank into a state of confusion and did not recover from it.
The television channels reported that the fight is currently against the clock because it is a fight for the Prime Minister's life. Haaretz newspaper reported that the brain stem is an area from which it is difficult to drain the blood, and according to the doctors, the chances of its recovery are very low.

About 10 percent of all cerebral events end in intracerebral bleeding. This is a life-threatening event, with an extremely high mortality rate. Prime Minister Ariel Sharon Metou was at double risk: he had a transient stroke about three weeks ago, during which he was treated with blood thinners, which increase the risk of intracerebral bleeding.

In Wikipedia it is written that a stroke or cerebral event is a sudden attack of disturbance in one of the body's functions, as a result of damage to the circulatory system in the brain. A stroke is a medical emergency and it is important to contact a doctor immediately upon discovering the first signs of the event, because in some cases the danger can be prevented by treatment with substances that dissolve clots.

A stroke is usually manifested by the loss of function of the area of the body controlled by the affected part of the brain, for example: tingling in one of the limbs; paralysis on one side of the body; loss of the ability to speak or see; Difficulty swallowing.

During the stroke, death of brain tissue is caused, which occurs when the blood supply to part of the brain stops as a result of blood vessel blockage (ischemic stroke), or bleeding (hemorrhagic stroke). In an ischemic stroke, blood flow is blocked by a blood clot, or due to atherosclerosis. A hemorrhagic stroke occurs when a blood vessel bursts, and blood leaks into the areas surrounding the brain cells, which leads to the destruction of these areas as well as to the cessation of blood flow to the area of the brain to which that blood vessel supplied blood until it ruptured.

The immediate and long-term results of a stroke vary in severity and can range from temporary weakness or tingling in one limb to disability or death.

Note: The news is from the first days after the event in 2005. Sharon became a plant and died in 2013.
