Professor Yitzhak Apluig, former president of the Technion, joined the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. The Academy was founded in 1780 and is an independent center for policy studies that conducts interdisciplinary research on complex and topical issues. The academy is headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and has approximately 4,600 members.
"The joining ceremony marks the Academy's mission and the achievements of the new members," said Academy President Leslie Berlovich. "For three hundred years, the Academy and its members have dedicated themselves to intellectual leadership and positive action in America and around the world."
