For years, many good philosophers, psychologists and biologists have tried to crack the puzzle of consciousness. What do we mean when we say consciousness? Which animals have it, and which don't? And why is it even important? And despite the hundreds of years that have passed in which the best researchers tried to find a solution to these questions, the impression still remains that the existing answers are not entirely satisfactory. It is important to emphasize that the ambiguity that exists today surrounding the question of the existence of consciousness among animals also creates ambiguity regarding the actions of humans towards these creatures.
