Dassault Systèmes has announced that Jindal Stainless Limited (JSL), India's leading steel producer, will implement Dassault Systèmes' solutions to improve planning, scheduling and execution in its production processes and better meet consumer demands.

The company recently expanded and doubled the production output in its two plants to 2.9 tons of steel per year. The company will be able to manage its production and operation from end to end, in a smooth way, through a strategy of full integration and automation.

The steel industry is considered complex. Production is made to order, and the delivery of a reliable result at a level that will suit the client's goals requires flexibility and transparency in planning, in the use of resources, in leveraging real-time information from the production floor, capacity management and performing accurate assessments while adhering to high standards.

Jindal will implement Dassault Systèmes' industrial experience solution Operations Planning and Scheduling Excellence On the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, this solution leverages DELMIA applications and enables the optimization of these processes virtually. The company will be able to reduce costs, improve efficiency and enjoy significant benefits such as reducing delivery time by 10%-15% and inventory in process by 8%-10%.

Through the implementation of the solution, Jindal aims to strengthen its position in core sectors such as automobile and infrastructure while expanding its activities in the lifestyle sector, aviation and in a sustainable manner. The virtual twin experiences will allow the company to reduce its carbon footprint by reducing the variation in products and reducing disqualifications within quality control.

"This is another determined step, the essence of which is to give up outdated systems and creatively adopt new models of digitization and automation," said Aviodi Jindal, CEO of Jindal. A few years ago, we were the first organization in the steel industry in India to commit to the entire customer journey and embed it in their work. We are now working towards a 360-degree integration of various operational technologies with real-time dashboards to enable faster decision-making. This aligns with our vision to diversify, expand and drive long-term growth and innovation in the steel industry. The implementation of DELMIA and Apriso is critical for us on the way there."

"Dassault Systèmes' solutions support the sustainable production of steel by customers like Jindal Stainless Limited, who are committed to innovation," said Corinne Bolota, Vice President, Infrastructure, Energy and Materials Industry, Dassault Systèmes. “By leveraging our industry solutions experiences and DELMIA and Apriso applications, Jindal will benefit from a unified database, bringing real-time visibility, simulation and optimization capabilities. The experience of the virtual twins of JSL's production systems will help the company to significantly improve operational efficiency and product quality and will enable fast, data-based decision-making in favor of reducing carbon emissions in the steel industry."
