The academic school year in Israel has been postponed again - this time to December 24

In view of the war situation and the high percentage of reservists among the male and female students and faculty, this year the Tashpad academic year will not open before 24.12.23;

Before the beginning of the semester, a two-week advance notice will be given, which will be devoted to organizing for the return to routine and the academic track, after which the studies will begin

The research universities in Israel continue to strengthen the recruits and their spouses, and provide them and all residents of the State of Israel with support and assistance in a variety of local and national initiatives.

In order to support the student community, which includes the male and female reserve men and women and their spouses along with residents of conflict zones who were evacuated from their homes, families whose loved ones were murdered, kidnapped or injured - informs the Board of Heads of the Research Universities of the postponement of the opening of the academic year 24.12.23 until the beginning of the release of those recruited into the reserves and not before The XNUMX, when the two weeks before will be dedicated to organizing and assistance for the return to the academic routine.

The announcement refers to 7 of the research universities in Israel: the Hebrew University, Tel Aviv University, Bar Ilan University, Ben Gurion University, the Technion, Haifa University and Ariel University.
Regarding the Weizmann Institute and the Open University, other arrangements will apply and the details will be communicated to the student body by the institutions.

At the request of the Ministry of Health, and in order to allow the continuity of the activity of the health system in Israel, special arrangements will be put in place for medical students in clinical studies.

We aim for the school year to take place in its entirety and include two full semesters. As the need arises, the school year will also slide into the summer period. The individual decisions regarding the structure of the academic year will be made at each of the universities.
