Podcast: The nature of the environment - why did the buzzard become Israel's national bird?

The Tel Aviv 360 podcast of Tel Aviv University with the participation of Prof. Yossi Leshem (Hebrew only)

In this episode, Prof. Yossi Leshem from the School of Zoology at Tel Aviv University is a guest. Prof. Leshem describes in his special and fascinating way the process of choosing the national bird, democracy at its best. A process that brought to the agenda the need to protect nature in general and birds in particular. The stories that accompanied the process were concentrated in a work of thought in a book authored by Prof. Leshem with Dan Alon, CEO of the Society for the Protection of Nature. A chapter in Ecopolita that can be used by all Israeli citizens, as a tool to change the perception towards nature in general. Under the guidance of Dr. Michael Miro

  1. It's a little, if not very, ridiculous that the sparrowhawk almost doesn't exist in Israel because the ravens, parrots and species have taken their place, it's our bird! When I was a child, was the duchifat really, today? Not anymore!
