Adi Mashal, a 3,000th grade student from the Mitzpe Yam school in Eilat, won first place in the "Madaachidon" competition of Applied Materials Israel. The quiz took place as part of a scientific-educational project of the nanotechnology company Applied Materials with the participation of about 30 students from about XNUMX schools from all over the country - from Kiryat Shmona in the north to Eilat in the south. The final winners were determined in a head-to-head competition held at the Applied Materials Campus in Rehovot. Students from nine towns across the country participated in the final competition: Eilat, Arad, Sde Zvi, Sde Boker, Ashdod, Holon, Netanya, Tirat HaCarmel and Haifa.
The activity of Applied Materials is designed to enrich the scientific knowledge of children and youth, and to illustrate scientific principles they encounter in their daily lives. In addition, the project helped children and youth to face scientific challenges through the Internet.
Anthea Kessel, director of community relations at Applied Materials Israel, said that "We are concluding a fifth year of successful activity in the field of science education that has involved tens of thousands of children and youth.
