Every year, 20 young students from Germany participate in the Siemens Talent Academy program. For the first time, two places were reserved for Israeli students who represented the State of Israel.
Ido Ginodi, 17 years old, and Ofir Shalem, 18 and a half years old, from the mathematics department at Bar-Ilan University, were chosen to represent Israel in the "Talent Academy" program of the Siemens company, which will take place in Germany next week, between the dates 4.3.2006-1.3.2005. Ido (Hadar High School in Hod Hasharon) and Ofir (a graduate of Kogel High School in Holon), outstanding high school students, studying for a bachelor's degree in mathematics as part of a program for outstanding high school students in Bar-Ilan, will participate in the program together with 18 outstanding high school students from Germany.
The Siemens Talent Academy program
The Siemens company, which supports the development of the training of the younger generation around the world, organizes an educational program called
"Talent Academy". 20 outstanding students aged 18-15 participate in the program, during which the students experience learning and educational activities that challenge creative thinking and include collective thinking to solve problems in the fields of exact sciences. The program lasts about four days in Erlangen, Germany under the full sponsorship of Siemens and includes, among other things, a trip to Munich. This year, we have reserved two places for Israeli students which will be filled by Ido Ginodi and Ofir Shalem from Bar Ilan University. As part of the program, the two students will present a presentation about Israel on the topic: "Israeli excellence, youth and higher education - in Bar-Ilan from the age of 14..."

The program for a bachelor's degree in mathematics for outstanding high school students - is unique to Bar Ilan
Ido and Ofir are studying as part of the intensive course for a bachelor's degree in mathematics, which is unique to Bar-Ilan University, and which has been running for the fifth year. About 120 students, who were rejected from the army, are studying for a bachelor's degree in the program, and will complete their bachelor's degree already at the age of 19. The 120 students are all graduates of the 'program for talented youth in mathematics', which is intended for students who are talented in mathematics from around the country and prepares them for matriculation of 5 credits at the end XNUMXth grade - very good luck. The 'program for talented youth in mathematics' is a unique program that has been operating in Bar-Ilan for twenty-eight years, in collaboration with the Israeli Center for the Advancement of Mathematical Sciences of Prof. Zvi Arad and Prof. Bernard Pinchuk.
