The Board of Directors of the Weizmann Institute of Science has elected Mandy Moros as Chairman of the Board of Directors, with the end of Stewart Eisenstadt's term in this position. As an enthusiastic and involved donor, Moros' ties to Israel are many and wide. He supported the archaeological excavations in the City of David, donated to the Israel Tennis Center and the Israel Museum, and founded the Haimi Moros Community Children's Center in Jerusalem. Since 1982 he has been a member of the board of directors of the Weizmann Institute of Science, and in 1998 he was awarded an honorary doctorate by the institute. As part of his activities The branch for the Weizmann Institute of Science provided Mandy Moros with resources to acquire valuable related documents To Chaim Weizman, and to renovate his historical laboratory; he established the laboratory for vision and robotics named after Moros, and the professorial chair named after Dr. Heimi Moros. Moros, which serves as a major source of funding for cancer research at the Institute, and enables Weizmann Institute scientists to carry out advanced multidisciplinary research in cancer research.

The meeting of the board of directors opened, as every year, with the ceremony of awarding the research award named after Charles Claure, given to an outstanding senior (experimental) researcher who joins the institute this year. This year, the prize was awarded to Dr. Boris Ryvchinsky from the Department of Organic Chemistry. Dr. Ryvchinsky focuses, among other things, on the creation of artificial photosynthetic systems. The Chairman of the Institute's Executive Committee, Avraham Ben-Naftali, opened the meeting of the Executive Committee with words of congratulation and appreciation to the members and directors of the Institute's friend societies in Israel and abroad, who are engaged in raising resources that enable the Institute to continue operating at the forefront of science, while competing with the largest and most outstanding research centers in the world.
