A high school student from Israel won a prize in a science competition: an asteroid named after him

17097) Ronneuman Discovered 1999 May 10 by MIT Lincoln Laboratory's Near-Earth Asteroid Research program.

In a competition held in 2003 in Cleveland, Ohio, it was decided by MIT-Massachusetts Science and Engineering to name a heavenly gram after Ron Neumann from Israel.

Ron, a high school student from Ramat Gan when the competition was held in 2003, participated in the competition and won second place and a commendation from NASA. The sky element will be called Ronneuman 17097
The MIT website states that asteroid 17097 was discovered on May 10, 1999, by MIT's Lincoln Laboratory's Near-Earth Asteroid Research program (Lincoln Laboratory's Near-Earth Asteroid Research program), known as LINEAR.

In doing so, Ron joins other celebrities who are also named after celestial bodies such as: John Lennon, Albert Einstein, Van Gogh. About four years ago, Israeli asteroid researcher Ilan Manolis won an asteroid named after him - Manolis 13615.
