Elements 115, 117, 118 (temporary names and symbols: ununpentium, Uup; Ununseptium, Uus; ununoctium, Uuo)
The collaboration of the Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna, Russia, the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California, USA, and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, has fulfilled the benchmark for elements 115 and 117, and the researchers will be invited to propose permanent names and symbols for them;

The collaboration of the Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna, Russia and the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California has fulfilled the benchmark for element 118 and the researchers will be invited to propose a permanent name and symbol for it.
Claims of entitlement to the discovery of the four new elements are presented at the same time, after careful verification of the discoveries and the claims to the discoveries. The decisions are detailed in two reports to be presented by the joint working group made up of experts in the field employed by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) and the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP). These reports will be published at the beginning of 2016 in the union's official monthly. The decisions are based on publications about these foundations that were presented in 2013-2004.

"A special difficulty in verifying these new elements lies in the fact that they decay into isotopes of lighter and unknown elements, which in turn require characterization and verification," explains Professor Paul J. The union is now initiating a process to officially recognize the names and symbols of these new elements. The proposed names and symbols will be checked by the department of inorganic chemistry in the union in terms of consistency, ability to translate them into other languages , their historical use, etc. Usually, the names of the elements are inspired by a mythological concept, a mineral name, a location or country, a trait, or the name of a scientist. After preliminary approval, the two-letter names and symbols will be presented to the general public to receive comments from them for five months, before the most senior body in the union, the Council, makes its final decision regarding the official and permanent names and symbols.
