From here on, a group of announcements about various products that will be presented at the exhibition:

First exposure to the "green garage" project in Israel

Grinal Ecology Company will unveil the "Green Garage" project for the first time. The goal of the project, which is being carried out in collaboration with the Garage Association and the Ministry of Environmental Quality, is to provide a comprehensive solution to the issue of collecting and recycling used oil filters from garages and car workshops. According to the data of the Ministry of the Environment, a significant part of the approximately 4 million oil filters that are thrown into the garbage every year and tens of tons of mineral oil that dripped onto the ground created serious environmental pollution.

In surprise inspections conducted by the ministry's representatives in recent months, at garages throughout the country, it was found that 90% of the garages do not comply with the instructions and regulations, which require the removal of used oil filters to the toxic waste site in Ramat Hovav, or to an approved recycling facility.

As part of the "Green Garage" project, it was decided to address the 2 most pressing problems:
Regulated removal of used oil filters from garages and workshops and their recycling and installation of standard oil separators in garages and their maintenance. The managers of the project, which has already started operating in the field, report that compared to 2001, during which only about 15000 filters were collected in an unregulated manner, from the beginning of the project's activity until now, about 150000 filters have been collected. By the end of 2003, it is estimated that approximately one million four hundred thousand filters will be collected.

The filters are currently collected in special collection containers. Once a month they are collected by a standard truck for the transportation of hazardous materials that transports them to a collection point for recycling. The filters are disassembled into their components - metal oil and paper, recycled and returned to the industry as raw material.

The head of the hazardous materials division at the Ministry of the Environment, Michal Bar Tov, stated that in Israel, about 45,000 tons of oil for vehicle needs are sold every year, of which about 25,000 tons and about 3 million oil filters can be collected in garages. Today, anyone convicted of a violation of the used oil regulations faces six months in prison or a fine of NIS 9,600.

Waterless Israel will reveal at the exhibition for environmental technologies in Tel Aviv a home facility for producing pure drinking water from the air

The Waterless Israel company will reveal the WATERMAKER facility (registered trademark) that enables the production of pure drinking water from the air. The facilities were brought to Israel following a distribution agreement signed last month between Waterless and the manufacturer of the facility and the owner of the patent, the American company AWT, which has been operating for several years in the production of water in countries where there is a quality problem or water shortage, mainly in Central Africa and Arab countries.

The principle of operation in the facility is extremely simple: normal air is drawn into it through an electrostatic filter that separates dust particles and pollution from the air. The filtered air passes through cooled condensing coils and thus droplets are formed that flow to a collection tank. The dry air is blown out. The water itself passes through a natural charcoal filter and through an ultraviolet lamp that improves the taste of the water and destroys pollutants. At this point the pure water without any aftertaste is ready to drink. "These are infinite reservoirs of water in the air," says Danny Carney, CEO of Waterless. "The water is low in minerals, which according to one of the Tibetan concepts, this water is the healthiest for purifying the body from toxins."

The home facility is intended as a replacement for purchasing containers or bottles of mineral water and the company will even market larger facilities, intended mainly for areas where there is a water quality problem, or a shortage of drinking water. These facilities can even be used in emergency cases of poisoning of water sources, or water carriers. Facilities of this type are already operating today in Egypt, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf principalities.

The facility for home use is capable of producing about 20 liters of water per day, in climate conditions of over 40 percent relative humidity and over a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius. The larger facilities are capable of producing unlimited amounts of water.

The price of the home water dispenser will vary between 6000-7500 NIS including VAT. The company will also offer the product for a monthly rent of about NIS 200 per month.

A balloon show inside a recycled dinosaur statue, video presentations and environmental art - at the "Environment Quality 2002" exhibition

Along with a variety of technological solutions to preserve the quality of the environment and reduce industrial pollution damage, the organizers also attach great importance to art that relates to the environment. Thus, in the exhibition open to the general public - free of charge, works from recycled materials, video performances and environmental art of various kinds will be presented.

Among the exhibits: a huge (11 by 4 meters) and transparent dinosaur - made of recycled materials - inside which a lollipop will appear. On another stage, 20 artists will go up, one after the other, in order to create a work in "real time", with the duration of the creation being the length of a breath, that is, each artist will take a deep breath, go on stage and create without breathing and get off the stage as soon as they need to take another breath. The entire process will be accompanied by a live video clip by a VJ artist who will project on a screen segments relating to ecological problems in the world, while editing them in real time and in accordance with Shidja music.

The exhibition, the conferences and the professional events associated with it are organized by the Israel Fairs and Congresses Center in cooperation with Conexpo - an exhibition organization, under the auspices of the Ministry of the Environment, in cooperation with the Export Institute, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Association of Manufacturers and the Israel Ecology Association.

Amishragaz will be revealed for the first time as part of an exhibition
"Environmental Quality 2002" passenger car powered by cooking gas

Amishragaz company will present to the public a car powered by cooking gas - LPG.
According to Amishragaz, the transition to using LPG is easy to do. A compressed gas tank and a gas supply system are installed in the trunk. This is added to the existing fuel injection system. After the conversion procedure, which takes about six hours and costs about 1500 dollars, the driver will find an integrated "Hebrid" system in her hands. Another advantage is also found in the topic of current expenses. According to the estimate, an average passenger car will recover its conversion cost in a trip of about 25000 km, when from this point onward you will start saving a lot of money for its user.

"Around the world today over ten million vehicles are moving on the roads using cooking gas, or natural gas," says Moshe Spitzer, VP of Amishragaz. "The great advantage of burning gas, natural or condensed hydrocarbons, comes from high efficiency through better utilization of the fuel, which is manifested in a drastic reduction of pollutant emissions and especially of the pollutants responsible for the smog that harms the respiratory tract."

According to Spitzer, driving with LPG reduces the emission of carbon monoxide by 75%, the emission of nitrogen oxides by 40%, the ozone-forming particles by 87%, the hydrocarbons by 85% and the carbon oxides by ten. percentage. "Compared to diesel engines, which run on diesel, the situation is even better."

The car that Amishragaz will present as part of the "Exhibition for Environmental Technologies" will actually be the first private car in Israel fueled by LPG. The conversion was carried out by Amishragaz engineers with the assistance of the experts of the Dutch company "Viella", and in cooperation with the company "Chalmotor", which donated a Mitsubishi car for the project.

As for the infrastructure of the gas filling stations, Spitzer points out that a gas filling station is nothing more than a gas accumulator, thousands of which are currently deployed throughout Israel, and that the National Planning and Construction Council recently approved the introduction of LPG into the existing gas stations. The approval was given at the request of the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Infrastructure even estimates that within a year LPG will be introduced to the gas stations along with gasoline and diesel.

and other announcements

· * The problems of soil pollution and lack of water create a growing demand for creative and effective solutions to the problem of sewage. The company "Ofra Sheshi Mai" will present its solution to the issue: a natural biological system for wastewater treatment (MBT). The system, based on Israeli research and development, combines the use of a variety of aquatic plants. The method simulates the processes of decomposition and adsorption of toxins and pathogenic agents carried out in nature by various microorganisms, such as bacteria, fungi and enzymes. These are usually found in the oxygen-saturated environment between the roots of aquatic plants.
* The "Had-Tech Engineering" company will present the compact Filtronic device, capable of neutralizing toxic vapors in the air. The device is a solution mainly for workplaces where toxic gases or chemicals are emitted during the ongoing activity. Polluted air causes, in the least worst case, impaired concentration, headaches and dizziness and in more serious cases allergic reactions, damage to the eyes and respiratory systems.
The Filtronic neutralizes toxic gases emitted during soldering, printing processes, working with adhesives and various laboratory processes. Removal and filtration of the vapors is carried out through a chemical process, at the end of which, the air entering the device is contaminated and comes out clean. The device is equipped with a remote control with which you can determine the suction power, with a meter on the remote control showing when it is necessary to change the filters.

* Environmental hazards such as toxic waste water, contaminated drinking water, turbid soil and waste burial sites pose a real problem to the construction and paving industry today. In order to identify the hazards, which can ultimately result in the loss of a lot of money for investors, tests and surveys must be conducted on sites intended for construction. Isotope will present a multidisciplinary model developed by it, which is used as a quick and accurate tool for locating and characterizing sources of pollution, the trends of its spread and the method of treatment required to bring about the recovery of the site.
* The company "Opi Technologies" will present a personal emergency kit for protection against dangerous substances. According to the company, the kit was originally developed for defense in emergency situations and accidents involving concentrations of hazardous materials in industrial plants and in vehicles transporting HMS (dangerous materials), but the danger from an unconventional Iraqi response to Israel made the kit relevant to the general public.
In the protection package, which costs the consumer about NIS 980, one can find, among other things, an advanced personal protective suit, resistant to war gases, an anti-gas mask and a gas and particle filter, emergency food, hacking tools, such as an ax and a pickaxe, a flashlight and water bags . "Opi Technologies" will also present an innovative and mobile pumping system for liquids and oils, designed to deal with emergency situations, or accidents, during which dangerous liquids are spilled into the environment and the ground and may cause serious environmental damage. The system is capable of minimizing and neutralizing environmental damage that may be caused as a result of attacks against Israel.

* Amanir company will present a new shredding truck, which provides shredding services in the customer's yard. The truck, without the need for an external power source, arrives on request at the factory, or the company, and is capable of shredding huge amounts of material, without the material intended for shredding being exposed at all, not even to the eyes of the shredders. At the end of shredding, the final shredded product is transferred to Amnir factories to continue the recycling process.

Romold Technologies will present a compact grease separator for assembly under the sink. The fat separator is mainly intended for small restaurants, fast food stalls and catering and its purpose is to prevent malfunctions in the conduction and circulation of waste water.

* Separation of oil and fuel from the municipal sewage system is an integral part of the sewage system required by law in places such as gas stations and garages. Romold Technologies will present, as part of the "Environment Quality 2002" exhibition, - December 17 to 19, 2002, in Tel Aviv - a series of light fuel and fat (mineral) separators.

"Aguas Via Israel" in collaboration with the company "Negev Projects Engineering and Development", will present compact systems for purifying waste water. The systems, which are suitable for public use, produce effluent water at a high level of purity, which can be used to irrigate all types of agricultural crops.
The companies are currently examining the possibility of marketing in Israel also systems for home use, this following many inquiries from private consumers, who were interested in the possibility of purchasing a home system, which will help recycle the domestic water system and reuse water for the purposes of irrigation, flushing toilets, air conditioning systems, etc. The companies estimate that this is a market of thousands of potential customers.

The system, which was developed by the Japanese KUBOTA company, operates with "bioreactor" technology, which uses membranes (membranes) with macroscopic nozzles, covered with layers of protein and cellulose materials. The unique combination of materials allows maximum purification of the wastewater flowing through the system.
* The Labgum company has developed an innovative process for recycling rubber and using recycled rubber as a raw material. The company was founded by three world-renowned experts in the field of rubber and its recycling, Dr. Lev Birach, Professor Vadim Goldstein and Michael Kopilov. Lowering the price of rubber recycling in the world will provide an answer to the difficult ecological problem of the accumulation of tires in the world. In the USA alone, 250 million used tires accumulate every year and in Israel 3 million. The constant increase in the number of vehicles in the world increases the amount of used tires. Labgum's recycling technology will provide an economical and environmentally friendly solution.
Dr. Lev Birach explains that the Labgom company has developed a new non-toxic and environmentally friendly chemical component that is used to recycle rubber in an efficient, economical and environmentally friendly way. The recycled rubber is of the highest quality and can be used to create tires, bumpers, drippers for irrigation, create surfaces for playgrounds and sports halls, insulating materials for heat and noise and rubber carpets for the car and home. Professor Vadim Goldstein adds that the technology of producing recycled rubber is more economical than the technologies used by various companies in the world.

* The Biopigment company has developed an innovative process for recycling iron. In the biopigment recycling process, iron waste is used to create color pigments for various uses. In the environmentally friendly recycling process, microorganisms are used to create color pigments from iron waste. The production process of the Biopigment company is significantly cheaper than the cost of using chemical substances to create pigments for paint. In this process, the creation of the pigments is three times faster and the quality of the pigments to create normal and transparent colors is extremely high. Color pigments can be used in construction, in the plastic industry and in the cosmetics and food industry.
