Dassault Systèmes and the European Space Agency signed a letter of intent to support the European community in innovation in the field of "new space" - the commercialization of space through private companies. The statement was made during Space Week in Paris at a Dassault Systèmes networking event on the new space theme.

The two bodies will cooperate in nurturing and accompanying new start-ups in the field of space, within the business incubators of European Space Agency(ESA) , by assisting with technology and networking.

The agreement is based on an existing cooperation, which began in Germany in 2022 between Dassault Systèmes andESA BIC  Bavaria, with an option to expand to additional business incubators of the space agency.

Dassault Systems andESA We see importance in digital transformation for success in the development of inventions in the field of space. In recent years, digital technology has allowed groundbreaking startups to present new ideas for satellites, space transportation and other aviation systems, which have completely changed the traditional dynamics in the industry.

Dassault Systèmes - through its open innovation laboratory 3DEXPERIENCE Lab - andESA New levels of innovation in the field will be promoted. Online startups ESA BIC will get access to the platform 3DEXPERIENCE of Dassault Systèmes in the cloud. The platform offers new ways to concept, design, manufacture, test, certify and maintain new spacecraft. Startups in the field will be able to benefit from industry-leading technology to create their projects in a XNUMXD virtual environment, while collaborating effectively within teams and with a network of mentors around the world.

"network ESA BIC Supported over 1,300 startups. At the Directorate for Commercialization, Industry and Procurement our goal is to increase support for these companies in their growth journey by building bridges with corporate partners, and investors. And also, within our organization - through additional programs of ESA. In addition, we are learning from these companies a new approach to space, one that will shape the future ecosystem of space," said Geraldine Neja, Director of Commercialization, Industry and Procurement, ESA.

"We are at the forefront of a huge wave of innovation in space. In ten years, the number of satellites orbiting the Earth will increase more than 10 times. The potential inherent in the democratization of space arouses interest and gives birth to new start-up companies in the field of space in Europe. Our collaboration with ESA will enable these startups to accelerate the design, manufacture, testing and operation of breakthrough technologies that will drive a new global space economy," said David Ziegler, Lt. President of Aerospace and Defense Industries, Dassault Systèmes.
ESA, the leading European space agency, has a network of 29 business incubator centers across Europe, which aim to help develop ideas, start-ups and innovations in space.

For 40 years, Dassault Systèmes has provided airlines with technology to create new industry sectors and revolutionize existing sectors through ground-breaking firsts - from the first aircraft designed and developed entirely digitally to advances in eVTOLs, solar-powered flight and closed-loop habitats, which are made Eventually, enable life on other planets.
