The delegation to the Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad won 4 medals

The Israeli delegation of high school students trained at the Technion, who returned with four medals from the Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad held in Astana, Kazakhstan.

The Israeli delegation of high school students trained at the Technion, who returned with four medals from the Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad held in Astana, Kazakhstan.

The students members of the delegation were trained at the Shulich Faculty of Chemistry at the Technion under the direction of Prof. Zeev Gross, and they are: Jonathan Guttenmacher, 10th grade student at the Real Gymnasium School, Rishon Lezion (silver medal); Sean Hantz, a 12th grade student at Kiryat Shinoch Rabin School, Gan Yavneh (silver); Noam Barash Biram, 12th grade student at the Meir Shafia school, HaCarmel Beach (Arad); Netta David Eiger, a 12th grade student at the Shaked Darka school, Emek Ma'a'ain (Arad); Amit Gosol, an 11th grade student at the First High School, Herzliya (high grade); fGuy Zimmerman, 11th grade student at the Kfar Hirok school, Ramat Hasharon (high grade).

The Olympics project for high school students is the result of a joint venture between the Association of Future Scientists (Maimonidis) and the Ministry of Education, and the Technion was chosen as the academic institution responsible for the selection and training of the students who form the skeleton of the chemistry team. The members of the delegation were accompanied by doctoral student Alex Korontov (the head of the delegation), Nir Cohen (a former gold medalist) and Dagan Ashash, the educational advisor for the Israeli science teams.

This is the 57th time of the existence of the Mendeleev Olympics and this year teams from more than twenty countries participated in it. In July, the International IChO Olympics will be held in Zurich, Switzerland, with the participation of competitors from more than 80 countries, and we wish the members of the Israeli delegation great success.

  1. When will the day come and these children will be invited to the Prime Minister and the President and we will hear about them in the news... we lost it...
