The second Israeli biotechnology week - Biotech 2003, will be held on May 13-15, 2003 - at the exhibition grounds in Tel Aviv. The week's events include an exhibition and three conferences.
Biotech 2003 already stands out today, despite the situation, as the largest biotechnology event in Israel. According to the forecast, it will be attended by 140 biotechnology companies from Israel and abroad, researchers and academics, and representatives of some of the world's largest venture capital funds in the field of biotechnology. The guest of honor will be Alan Coleman, the creator of the cloned sheep, Dolly (deceased), who will also open the events this week

In the planned exhibition, solutions and innovations in the fields of biotechnology, biology, nanotechnology, medicine and related equipment will be presented. Giant international companies, Israeli companies, young startups and incubators will participate in the exhibition. Among the exhibitors, the international Merck, D-pharm, and the Israeli Compugen, Ashkelon greenhouse, Red Ramot greenhouse, and more. New solutions, medicines and technologies will be presented at the exhibition, ranging from new solutions for cancer treatment, through unique equipment to reduce the pressure from the cartilage in the knees, to new methods for the commercial cultivation of expensive edible mushrooms.

The accompanying conferences will be held in three tracks: scientific, biomedical and economic, and they will bring together most of the leading factors in the biotechnology industry in Israel, which will also be joined by companies from abroad. Among the topics discussed at the conferences, new horizons in the combination of biology and agriculture, new healing approaches for cancer, Neuroscience, bioethics and protection of intellectual property and more.

The week's events are organized by the companies "Kens" and "Conexpo" and sponsored by "BDO", "Focus Haaretz", the Office of the Chief Scientist at the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Matimuf and the Export Institute.

According to Danny Farber, CEO of Conexpo, the success of Biotech Week 2002 proved that it is possible to hold an event in the field of biotechnology in Israel with a real international dimension. Life," says Farber.
